GIANT RUSSIAN

This variety is not a true garlic; instead it is actually a leek and an alternative name for it is Elephant Leek. This is a really apt name as the cloves are huge! One individual clove that I weighed recently came in at a whopping 180g - that's more than an entire bulb in most varieties of garlic. It's flavour is very mild, so it's ideal for salads and the giant cloves are also great for roasting.
